Along with more video game, anime and manga appearances because Japan is positively in love with these little guys. I think their Japanese name means something like “ice angels,” since they like freezing cold water and will follow drifting icebergs around to migrate. Inside of their heads are barbed tentacles they can shoot out to feed. Their diet is made up entirely of one other swimming gastropod, a tiny “winged” snail. The tentacles are used to rip this prey out of its shell! They’re also worth a good bag of Bells in Animal Crossing, under the alternate name “Sea Butterfly” (pretend I inserted an image here because Tumblr is so broken for me right now).  I had one in my house for a while before feeling bad and letting it go free.
