For the unaware, a lot of people (at least in the US) are treated in a horrifyingly abusive way when committed to a hospital ward because apparently we haven’t improved in forty goddamned years in regards to how we treat the committed. While there’s no way to take back the treatment, reporting the conditions to the joint commission can help get the hospital’s collective asses in line and help improve conditions for others.

Honestly i kind of wish this wasn’t necessary in the first place but people are utter douchebags when given absolute authority over others. Also not sure how much it will help, but given the conditions I’ve seen people talk about every single bit helps.
